Accelerating Nonprofit List Growth By Focusing on Inclusion

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Case Study: Global Down Syndrome Foundation

Global Down Syndrome Foundation (GDSF) is dedicated to significantly improving the lives of people with Down syndrome through research, medical care, education and advocacy. By focusing on strategies for nonprofit list growth, our goal was grow a base of supporters and welcoming them to a community built for partners of kids with Down syndrome and allies.

In doing so, we positioned Down syndrome as a continuation of the human and civil rights movement by highlighting how individuals are discriminated against in school and in public. Once educating the community with this message, our goal was to rally supporters to sign and share a petition for equal government funding for Down syndrome research and medical care.

Harnessing the power and influence of celebrity supporters, we created a social media toolkit to promote messages of inclusion at Global Down Syndrome Foundation’s largest fundraising event of the year, Be Beautiful Be Yourself. This campaign helped the nonprofit growth their list and build their community.

Working with Global Down Syndrome Foundation, we built an online community of engaged supporters and inspired this community to create real impact by petitioning for change.

Strategy

Build & Engage Communities

Individuals allow organizations to achieve goals of all shapes and sizes. We seek out the right people and inspire them to get involved and take action.

Captivating Words & Images

Powerful work deserves powerful communications. Copywriting, infographics, email headers, landing pages—the list goes on—all help you move communities toward organizational goals.

Multi-Touchpoint Campaigns

Momentum matters. When we need supporters to take action, we strive to meet them where they are—on their twitter feed, in their inbox or chatting with their friends.

Implementation

  • Our work with GSDF brought supporters to the advocacy front lines, empowering a community of passionate individuals to speak up for change.
