Media Cause Hot Takes: Working from Home

If you’re lucky enough to work for an employer that is moving to remote work, you might be experiencing some new routines, some new coworkers (kids! pets! spouses!) and a slew of new challenges that come from social distancing.

While we fully support everyone’s individual effort to flatten the curve, we also wanted to offer some words of wisdom in how you can make working remotely work for you:

“I have three easy tips. 1)Make sure you’re getting vitamin D – for me, I work at home in a space with little light during the day so I make sure to take small breaks to leave the room and sit near windows to keep my sleep schedule regular. 2) Separate your workspace from your relaxation space – keeping environments separate helps your brain know when it’s time to work and when it’s time to wind down. 3) Create a fake morning/afternoon “commute” – go for a walk, or if you can’t leave the house, create a morning ritual to start the day and an evening ritual to end the day.” – Jess Eklund, Account Strategist

 

“I find myself working from home with my husband. He’s an introvert, I’m an extrovert. This could be a recipe for disaster. But we’ve set up our workspaces in different areas of our house and have agreed to minimal chit chat during the day so we can continue to focus on work.
