When asked “What do you want to get out of your career?” one of the most important things for me is–learning opportunities.
Here at Media Cause, learning opportunities are abundant. In fact, as a new employee, your first few months are heavily focused on digital marketing training. This onboarding process allows you to take time to invest in developing and enhancing your skills on multiple digital platforms.
Did I mention the best part? The best part is the digital marketing training process is completely catered to each employee’s skill set. As a somewhat newbie to the digital marketing space, my training covered several platforms. They were as follows: Facebook, Digital Marketing Strategy, Google Analytics and Google Adwords.
What did my digital marketing training cover?
Facebook: I learned the ins and outs of managing Facebook pages and implementing Facebook advertising strategy. This included: Learning the skills, tools, advertising policies and best practices required to manage Facebook pages. Learning how to create, purchase, manage, and use advertising objectives to optimize Facebook campaigns. And lastly, developing the skills to target audiences for maximum impact and exposure.
Digital Marketing Strategy: I was fortunate to be able to take the General Assembly Digital Marketing Circuit, which is a five-week interactive course that reviews the fundamentals of digital marketing. The course taught me how to plan, run, and measure marketing campaigns using paid advertising, SEO, content, email, and social media. Additionally, once I finished the course I was automatically enrolled into the General Assembly alumni program, which gives me access to other courses and special events.
Google Analytics: My Google Analytics training allowed me to take a deep dive into the function of the measurement tool. I learned the planning and principles of creating an analytics account. I also learned how to collect data and read the metrics that Google Analytics provides. Most importantly, I learned how to turn data into valuable information.
Google Adwords: My Adwords training taught me how to run search and display ads to reach new customers and nurture returning ones. I learned the fundamentals of how to set up, manage, and optimize Adwords campaigns. I also learned how to measure the success of accounts and apply those findings to enhance future campaigns.
The learning doesn’t stop….
Even though I am finished with my “training period” MC still allows time for me to invest in career-enhancing skills. I’m encouraged to attend events, seminars, and take other courses.
My co-workers (coast to coast) are also helpful resources. It amazes me how knowledgeable my colleagues are and how quickly they are to offer up their time to give expert advice.
