How to Create Instagram Ads
Instagram ads have arrived! Instagram has officially released access to Instagram ads to all accounts— and they’re pretty easy to setup.
What’s awesome is that Facebook (parent company) integrated Instagram ads within Ads Manager, which makes creating Instagram ads very convenient. Ads Manager allows you to create Instagram and Facebook ads at the same time as long as it’s one of the following ad types:
What’s even more exciting is that Facebook integrated all custom audiences, pixels and retargeting tools for Instagram. What does this mean? Audiences you have previously created within Facebook are now available on Instagram! You don’t have to worry about embedding yet another pixel or losing any data.
What you need to know about Instagram:
- Videos can be 30 seconds or less
- Image specs: 1800 X 1200
- You don’t need a link, use the call-to-action buttons.

How to Setup a Campaign:
Step 1: Create Ad Campaign
Create an ad campaign just like you would on Facebook. Please refer to the ad types for Instagram when selecting the objective (see above).
Step 2: Create Ad Set
Create an ad set just like you would for Facebook, but where you select platforms you will choose Instagram. If this ad is running on both Facebook and Instagram, this is where you would check all that apply.
